It will take time to adjust to it's new environment. What have you tried so far?

Hello and welcome to 3reef first of all!
Xenia don't always pulse! Even if the started out pulsing, you can't be guaranteed that they will continue to. Some may even start pulsing after a period of time showing no evidence of pulsing.
Light, water parameters, flow and nutrients all come into play with the behavior of a particular Xenia species and whether it will pulse or not!
Just because it pulses or not doesn't portray whether it is healthy or not.
Best of luck and enjoy 3reef!

Don't touch or move it just let it ride a few days as already mentioned every time they are touched or disturbed will fall flat it can take from a few hr to a few days to restart puffing up and pulsing . Also Like mentioned what are the water parameters..

    Hiya Jilly

Xenia's need lots of light and moderate flow. They really don't transship well. May take a while to get established...but when they do look out!

I had the same problem with my xenia. They can be very finicky, leave them where they are until they adjust to the tank. Pumping xenia prefer an sg between 1.024 - 1.026. Mine were never happy where ever I put them until they were closer to the light, and in medium flow.

For right now let them settle, could be week before they bounce back. What is your water stats?

We added four pulsing xenias to the tank about three weeks ago. The first day we put them in they retracted, however, around the third day they began to flourish. Now they are about twice the size as when I added them and they are already starting to propagate. We now have 3 new little xenias on the rock that the others came on.
