i have just setup a refugium on my 100 gallon tank. i have a mag 12 pump out side the refugium. my problem is that i can not get the micro-bubbles to stop coming out of my 4 nozzles at the top of the tank. if i turn the pressure down on the pipes by the ball valve then i will not have enough flow in my tank. please help

I had this same problem, You need to find out where the bubbles are coming from. Mine were coming from the water spilling over into the pump compartment, then being sucked up by the pump. I raised the level in that compartment so the water coming into it didnt cause any bubbles. It could also be caused by an air leak somewhere on the pump piping sucking air into the line. Hope my two cents helps.

i was thinking it could be an airleak from my pipping, but then i would think i would be leaking water from my pipe.

    Hey Larry,
Do ya have a pic of your set-up? Do you have a sump-fuge combo or what? Might be nice to see how your plumbing is routed. If your flow is too high and and the micro-bubbles are making it back to the sump-fuge and then return pump you will need some baffels in sump to get rid of them. Do check for leaks by turning off pump. Also you might want to think of a smaller return pump and then add a closed-loop for your mag to kick up the flow inside the tank.

    Larry,
Also I just learned that if you have a small hole in a glue joint it might cause micro-bubbles as in a venturi. Might not be large enough to leak but could still pull air causing your problem.
