Just got a TDS meter. in is 271ppm out 10ppm
I know it should be 0 going out. I have recently replaced my membrane with a Filmtec.
and cartridges .I also added a second bigger di stage.
I know this is why I still have a nagging algae problem.
Could my di resin be bad? have had it for over 2 years.
    could it be low quality?

Did the di resin go from black to brown? If youve had it for two years it is probably time to change it.

It is my understanding that do resin has a short shelf life, especially when not sealed. I am sure azdesertrat will chime in shortly, he is the expert.

What is your pressure into the unit, your water temp, and tds from just the RO membrane?

Yes - very high likelihood the resin was bad after 2 years.

What is the TDS of your RO water (the water that feeds the DI)?

That is really high for RO water. I wonder if your membrane is bad or installed improperly? You should be seeing much lower tds for RO only water. That may be the reason for the high final tds.

So - assumming those measurements are accurate, the problem is the RO membrane. It's sending "dirty" water to the DI, and exhausting your DI resin quickly.

Feel free to give us a call when you're in front of the system if you'd like help troubleshooting it.

We'll be available till 8 eastern time tonight.
