    I have a 70 gallon tank with a 29 gallon sump currently.

The way the sump is now is poorly designed and has no chambers at all.

I have a protein skimmer, heater, return pump and a pump for a UV sterilizer all sitting in it.

What i am wanting to do is have at least a separate chamber for the skimmer.I need it so that the skimmer chambers water level never changes due to evaporation. My skimmer is super senistive to the water level and the slightest adjustment throws the skimmer off.

Everything is running fine its just i want the skimmer in a separate chamber so i don't have to babysit the water level in the sump so much.

I have no idea where to start on it to make it happen.

If anyone can give me ideas or sites i can read up on about it or even draw out a diagram for me on how i need it setup i would greatly appreciate it.

I would like to keep the 29 gallon tank as the sump just redesigned or even a bigger tank that has the same width and height of the 29 gallon tank.Length of the tank is not an issue

you will need to get a piece of glass or acrylic cut to fit inside the sump at the height you want the water level for the skimmer. Silicone it in place on both sides of the pane.

Something like this? With the baffles on the left made the height i want to keep the skimmer level at?

Should i have baffles on the drain side as well?

In your current design, water level in both chambers will be the same (unless you don't allow the return section to fill up), not a problem if that's what you want to do. You probably meant baffle on the "right", using the baffle on the "left" to control height in your skimmer chamber would pretty much defeat the purpose of the baffle on the right. good luck
