    i have this stuff on my sand bed that appeared from one day to the next dont know what it is.can anybody tell me what it is and how to get rid of it?

    Yup . Looks like cyanobacteria. :) Search through the algae forum...very common if your tanks is still cycling, or if you overfeed or use unfiltered tapwater.

    It is normal algae for new tanks. It will cycle out,,,, What helps it?????? Increased water circulation and bottom feeders like hermits and snails. Do not stir your sand bed or anything. It will eventually go away but in the mean time it can get pretty ugly. Give it some time. If it appears on the rocks( If you have any) blow it off with a powerhead and use a net to take it out.
