that would work, but they are at the same level, and not drilled... so i think i have to use a pump

OK, I read through this and completely agree with Tangster. One pump is all you need. If you have any more, they will fight each other. No way around it. Gravity down, pump up. You could split the drain as Tangster stated and give your fuge the nutrients it needs, You could also split the return and run a line separated by a valve to add flow if needed. You may have to upgrade your pump one notch to handle the split in the return (the diversion would not be that much anyway), but that would become apparent rather quickly and is probably not even needed in the first place. I like Tangster's idea better, as long as the flow parameters are OK. They should not be too fast. If I remember right, the flow requirement across the fuge is 1/10th that of the tank (check that data). The way I see this, you need to drill and plumb the sump and fuge so that the fuge drains into the sump via gravity. Be careful where you plumb it. Create gravity down and one pump up.

Forgive the ramble. This actually kept me awake. And Tangster gave me a really good idea about the split from the tank. Thank you Tanster. I am a wittle bit sweepy. I am going back to bed now. Rock on.......John
