I've heard of people moving rocks around to confuse the fish and get them to move around.

If you get rid of that one spot they're fighting over, maybe they will both choose new spots.???

OK I have the same two in a 125. Did you JUST add the Hippo? Like hours ago? They will get over it. That size tank is big enough for the both of them.

Was the yellow in there first? Or was the hippo?

Also, how big is the yellow vs. the hippo?

If the yellow (known to be more aggressive) was in there first and the hippo was just added, the yellow is just establishing dominance and soon enough they will be fine.

If the hippo (known to be more passive) was there first then the yellow is just trying to intimidate him/her (due to its aggressive nature).

Either way, you need to calm down and trust that they will come to an understanding. They CAN coexist in a tank that size peacefully. As SNL stated very amusingly, "Simma! Simma DON NA'!" (Calm down)

I would rescape your rocks and feed more plant based food than meat based. Too much meat can make tangs overly aggressive.
