    what would be a good protein skimmer for a 75 gallon tank that isnt going to make my wife kill me when she sees the bill

    I've been happy with my SeaStorm 75 for almost a year now. Produces well, priced right, but a little noisy since there's no silencer on the air intake.

    SWC also makes a nice looking smaller skimmer. I have one of their Xtreme 200's but it's not running yet, so no review beyond aesthetics, which is passes with flying colors.
