Well I think it's time to do the tear-down option because they have gotten to the point of no return. I think that I will sun soak all my rock in that tank for a week or so and start over. Any suggestions will be appreciated before I do the tear down method starting next weekend!

Ditto. Wow, you weren't kidding when you mentioned "take over." The good thing is that the majano isn't as potent of a stinger as the Aiptasia anemone.

Yeah, get rid of them asap!! They are no good in a reef tank especially! You can soak them in hot water as well or vinegar.
    Good luck!

You must have used Live Rock with all the diverse life on it . ): If you do tear it down and restart the system , thats the only way I know of to kill them off totally just start from the beginning and really soak that rock in Bleach. Toss all the sand and just start from sterile . Man these eve out do Rabbits or Lemmings :) And these type of animals also have population explosions when a food source is plentiful pretty muck like these Majano's and Aptasias.. Might cut down on feedings a little with the next tank. Food Diversity and and abundance is a Human factor not an animal one..Animals eat to live and not like humans that live to eat..

The live rock is the original rock that was purchesed in 11/2002. There have been no problems with anything in the tank until this summer when I slacked off from the hobby due to outdoor summer fun! I have the same old fish, (except for a clownfish that died last year) and corals from the 2002 purchase.

I first noticed about 10 in the tank about June. Then by Sept, I noticed that there were about 20 and now there are at least 1k.
