need info on diatom algea

    i have diatom algea growin on my lr it didnt start on the sand and crushed coral yet but i can see its starting to spread faster any suggestions on what type of clean up crew i should get. i would like to get something that would eat left over frozen brine not that there is alot of leftover but it falls inbetween the rocks and i would like to get it. any sugstions would be appreciated:)

    how old is your tank? if its a new tank the diatom algae is normal. increasing the flow will help stir up the lost food in the rock. also blue hermit crabs are good scavengers

    its been runnin for about 5 weeks but i thought i read somewhere there was snails or crabs that will eat it

    what are your ammonia levels?

    ammonia is 0ppm nitrite is 0ppm and nitrate is 5ppm hydro 1.022 ph is 8.3

    snails: cerith, banded trochus, super tongan nassarius, nerite
    crabs: blue legged hermit, emerald mithrax

    are a good start to look into
