Need lighting for a 120 gal

Like the title says i need lighting for 120 gal that im purchasing tomorrow i dont want MH because i would not like to purchase a chiller....The tank is a 4'x2'x2' so i need some ideas on lighting and some links with exactly what i need would be perfect all thoughts and opinions are appreciated;D

 

8 x 54w t5 ho fixture with lunar lights ;D.

 

What are you planning on keeping? That will make a huge difference on the suggestions.

8X54W T5HO from ATI or the Tek Elite if you wish to keep high light loving corals and clams.
Otherwise a 6X54W T5HO with individual reflectors will be fine for LPS and softies.

For FOWLR a 2X54W T5 would be fine.

You could go with an 8 light unit and just not use 2 bulbs if you think that SPS and clams are in your future. Otherwise just get a good six bulb unit with individual reflectors.

I Aquaticlife has modular units of two bulbs each that be linked together. That might be a good option.

 

do you have any good links or sites i should purchase the light system from my LFS is a lil closed minded and only want me to use MH so purchasing lighting from them is not in my future

This is what I run on my 120, the bulbs that come stock are decent, one you get to the upgrading point then you can run some sweet ATI's in it and youll be good to go.

I won mine from a tour, figured Id throw this link at you cause its on sale.
