So my fixture is about 4-5 months old now and I know in the next few months i wanna replace my bulbs or atleast start but there is sooooo many bulb choices out there i have no idea where to start right now I have 48" Aquatic life 4 bulb t5 HO with lunar LED's. The bulbs that are in there right now are the ones that came with the fixture so that would be 2) 48" T5 HO 54W 420/460 Lamps
    (2) 48" T5 HO 54W 10,000K Lamps
    (4) 1W Lunar LED's

I like the way it looks now but would like a little more blue/purpleish so i have no idea where to start for bulbs. Seen many different things on par ratings just recently picked up some SPS frags so i just want the best bulbs i can get for them. Any ideas please and also where I should place the bulbs in the fixture. thanks in advance

Buy 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus and 1 ATI Aquablue Special. Great PAR out of all of the bulbs. The Aquablue Special is a 12000K white bulb. The Purple Plus is the Blue Plus with red spectrum added. This bulb will bring out the reds, pinks and purples. I use these bulbs plus an actinic on my reef now. I get great growth and color.

    Go front
    Blue Plus
    Aquablue Special
    Purple Plus
    Blue Plus
    back

Switch the Aquablue Special and Purple Plus if you want the tank to look a little more purple or to get a little more red to show.

These bulbs have a lot more PAR than your current set so I would not have the lights on more than 10 hours for the blues and 8 for the daylights. Also change out one bulb every 3 or 4 days to avoid photo shock of your coral.
