Need new skimmer. 50 Gal. Upgrade from instant ocean

SO i have this
Protein Skimmer for Saltwater: Aquarium Systems SeaClone Protein Skimmer at Petco
Had it for a year or two now. and i have been noticing it collecting less and less every month. it might be my tank. it might be the skimmer. im not sure.
but i figured i would upgrade my skimmer.
what do people recommend for a 50 gal? I do not have a sump system.

So at one point the seaclone was collecting skimmate? Interesting.

anyway, reef octopus is a good brand. What is your price range?

 

Reef O****** for in sump and A*** C for HOB <-- that's what I found the majority reefers suggesting. I am using the Cora**** 65 and adjusting the bubble level everyday is just painful and annoying.

 

cheaper the better. i dont need anything super good. if you know what im trying to say here

 

Stay away from Cora**** you will be fine :-/

 

I have a modded coralife super skimmer and it works great for me, its no octopus but it does the job

 

if i wanna save some cash check out the sc 65 or sc 150 on ebay. great skimmera for great price
