Need new top for my 55gal.

I've just recently re-vamped my reef tank. I added a wet-dry filter, a remora pro skimmer and will soon be getting Coralife 48" lunar 260W(hopefully). Now my tank still has the original versa-top which is no longer practical. I'm using just half the glass now to accommodate the stuff I've got hanging on the back(actually its just the skimmer box and two power heads on the back since I put the remora and heater in the sump). What kind of top could I use that will fit and accommodate the new lights? I was thinking of just getting some Plexi-glass and cutting what I need. Any suggestions?

 

You don't really want to cover your tank with glass or plexi-glass. This will have a negative affect on temperature, oxygen exchange and the lighting spectrum of your bulbs. Most folks who don't want to leave the top of their tank open use egg crate that can be found in the lighting sections of your Home Depot.
