    Water plants grow like weeds.Especially here in Florida.;)
    There is Parrots feather,Lillies,Hornwort,Cabomba,Anacharis,Bamboo,Dwarf Papyrus,and Purple/blue Iris.I believe you mean the Parrots feather.(one of my favs) I haven't cleaned the ponds in three years.lol Just maintain the pumps.The plants/fish do the rest. ;)

    Nice pond Vinny, and I agree, I've had my 1400 gallon koi pond up for 8 or so years now, and plants are the key. As well as uv. I use one similar to this concept;
    Koi Pond Pressure Filter with UV for Ponds to 3 000 Gallons Free Extra Bulb | eBay

    I run it 24/7, i like it because you clean it with handles on the side you move up and down, no turning it off of pulling it apart, works great.

    Another great thing for algae is barley balls,

    I also have a good snail, clam, and mussel population in my pond to help.

    Awesome pond Cosmo! Hopefully I can enough plants going and the UV will make it so I don't have to clean it either but for now, it's pretty easy cleaning vs. the liner. I started with a preformed then went to a liner and now back to the preformed. I don't think it's big enough to really do the liner well - or the builder lacked sufficient lining skills (me). I am proud to say I've dug this thing all by myself - I probably should expand it but for now it will do :) Thanks again for all the great advice!

    If others have ponds they can share pics of, I would love that! Help gives me inspiration and ideas and a chance to show off their work!
