OK VERY BAD.......went away for a over stay a a hotel for works christmas do. We were gone for about 24 hours and when we arrived home..... NO power!!!!! checked tanks and my 2 clowns wer swimming around very slowly, scooter blennie seemed ok but corals were all tiny and shrivelled up. Temp was very low 17- 18 (mines set at 26-27) so guessing the power must have tripped not long after we left the house!.This was saturday which is when we restored power. I left the heater to heat the tank up over the past 2 days at its now back to 26 and everything seems good apart from my 2 clowns... 1 passed away last night after looking very stressed and i think the other is on its way out! they both looked so stressed ..... is there anything i can do to help the clown thats left? My soft corals , shrimps, & blennies are all fine alth i did lose 1 snail.
    My param are all ok
    Ammonia 0
nitrite o ( just maybe a slite tiny bit off pink hard to tell might just be me!)
    nitrate 20
    salt 0.024-25
    temp 26
    ph 8.1-8.3

    Any advice would be great!

Dont worry - corals are just shrivelled from having no light. Turn the lights and filters back on and you'll be fine be sure to get the water oxygenated. Corals can go for a couple of weeks with out light.

also add some Prime in to the tank to help reduce any ammonia from building up.

Continue to monitor your tank and its inhabitants. Perform a water change and if you have a qarantine tank you could remove the Clown to the quarantine tank and try medication but usually if the clown is in that condition, making a full recovery is not to promising.
Sorry to hear about your power failure and loss!
    Good luck

filters should not be affected by temp drop. just do your regular filter cleanings.

Also i do have a qur tank but its only been cycling 3 & half weeks. I have just been doing ammonia checks as the ammonia was so high i was weighting for it to drop before i check the others. The ammonia dropped yesterday to nill but because i was to busy stressing bout the big tank i have not checked the qur tank for nitrite & nitrate. To keep the qur tank cycled with no fish in it do i just add some shrimp every other day?

Sorry - i didnt read the part about the clowns dying. I would assume its from a lack of O2 or the cold.

So far 1 is dead but the other looks just as stressed as the one thats dead! Hes swimming in one spot the bottom corner breathing very fast and will not feed. I dont think he will pull through. He was stressed before his girlfriend passed away and now hes just not moving from the spot she was found!. Now thw filter is running the outlet is at the top off the tank putting o2 in the water also have two motored protein skimmer outlet puttin air back into to the tank. I thinks its just the stress off the temp changed so dramatically in such a short space off time. My only fish left is my scooter blennie! he looks ok. And my cleaner shrimp - stripe! is there a chance they will die off to?!
