Need recommendations on Coralife or Current 24" T5 HO fixtures

I bought a used Currents USA 2x65w compact fluorescent fixture only to find out that the fan is really loud. It sounds like hearing a blow dryer on the other side of a door. I tried replacing the fan with a computer fan I bought on ebay but that didn't work. I tried researching online but couldn't find anything neither.

So, I'm ready to buy a new fixture. I'm looking the Coralife Lunar Aqualight T5 HO, Current USA Nova Extreme T5 HO, and AquaticLife T5 HO Fixtures. I'm leaning towards the Aquaticlife since it uses one cord and operates digitally with built-in timers. Would anyone recommend any one of these and know if they operate quietly? Also, if there are other light fixtures in the same price range please let me know. Thanks!

 

I run both types of fixtures on my tank, I prefer the Current over the coralife.

Just do lol, I guess I cant compare it really cause my coralife is over a fowlr and the currents over a reef.

 

I would go with the Aquaticlife, better reflector, ballasts and cooling. Just replace the stock bulbs after 3 months.

 

do you think the fan is a little less quieter too?

 

i have the coralife and the fan is almost silent great light

 

i went with the aquaticlife.. and sold the other light.

the aquaticlife is silent because there is no fan! built in timer too so less cords. ;D
