I need a small but tall tank I did not see any at petco so I am assuming I need to order online, i also need to get a florescent light for it,

I want to use it to grow some macro algae and keep copepods is there a tank that has the bottom size of a 5 gallon but is taller?

Not sure about square or oblong tanks Jdameli

but they make some small footprint hexagonal tanks and for your purpose that might be OK?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What about an eclipse, it has the florescent lighting. They have a 6 gallon model. You can get them a petco or petsmart, I have a had a couple over the years and liked them for the easier sw stuff. Used to keep my baby octopi in them.

I had a 3 gallon Eclipse, they still sell those. It was my first reef tank.
