I don't know. Never seen that fixture operate. I will say that the 6x54 is a smokin nice fixture and I would put that on my tank anyday. I tend to over do things so the 8 bulb would be even cooler but pricier obviously.

I drilled my own tank and it worked out well. i'm kind of a dare devil tho. If you aren't comfortable doing it, go with one that's predrilled from factory or some glass shops will do that for you. I would research on custom overflows and check them out. A drilled tank is way safer than the HOB overflow. (I currently have both)

Yes your right that is but it also is Metal Halide not T5's

I will be the first one to agree with every ting you say here, my only point it for a few dollars extra (relatively) the 8 tube fixture will, how did you put it

"With that being said tho, with the 8 bulb fixture you won't be limited as to the coral you can keep."

That was my only point and no matter how you look at it watts per gallon, or what ever formula they are using now 324 watts over a 90 gallon tank will limit what you can keep. So that being said I stick with my orignal statement if you havent bought the light spend a bit more and buy the 8 tube unit.

I just drilled a 75, a bit stressful but it was easy and went well. Check out this video on youtube. this was exactly how I did it. Saved me a bunch of money!
