    Welcome to 3reef!

Unfortunately that tank would probably be too small for Discus :-/ They usually need 50 or more gallons.

It would be cool if you did an Iwagumi setup with the Tetras :)

Thank you for the feedback.I kind of have My heart set on Discus to be honest.Even if I could have two in the tank I mentioned and a small shoal of tetras would that work? in reference to the Iwugami this willbe My first tank so I was probably going to go with plastic plants/decor unless setting up a tank with live plants isn't as complicated as I assumed it would be

Please research the care of Discus. They are very much a special needs fish. Beautiful and expensive, I'd hate to see you disappointed with any loss.
A 28g tank is just to small for even 1 discus let alone 2. Please don't do this to those fish!

Agreed, discus are not a beginnerfish by any means. Very delicate with special care requirments. They need very peaceful tankmates, lots of plants and wood and subdued lighting to reduce stress, pristine water for health, and special buffers to keep the pH low. They are also prone to disease and once they break out from something it easily spreads like wildfire to all, even with treatment they often get secondary infections and this cycle continues until they die.

Also they do need a larger tank, a 55gal would be a minimum for a few of these guys nevermind a larger school like they are often kept. Not saying it can not be done, but it is very difficult. I would get my feet wet with something else first and then go to discus with a larger tank if that is what you goal is.

Ah ok the more I think about ye're right.Maybe tetras and iwugami would be a good start. Can anyone recommend tank brands to Me I like biorb and fluval purely because they look brilliant but unfortunately they are limited size wise.Any bigger tanks with nice/modern design ,I think the likes of juwel tanks are a bit dated?

I never bought those designer tanks, lot of money for a little bit of trim IMO. An aqueon or marineland standard tank does the job. Bowfronts are a little more but worth it you like the design. If you want nice trim a custom built stand and canopy is not all that hard to do and looks awesome when done

The look of the the tank Is half the attraction towards the hobby for Me.Does anyone have any experience with fighting fish I have read conflicting articles ,some say the Males and Females get along and others saying that doesn't make a difference.Gorgeous looking fish but couldn't have just one I'd imagine they get very lonely

Male and female (as well as 2 females, IIRC. Don't quote me on this ;) ) would be okay, but not 2 males.
