im trying to figure out what to do with this darned 55 galon aquarium. i dont have enough money for lighting for a reef so its FOWLR.

i need to know which i should do, for the fishes sake.

    1 volitan lion
    urchin for algae control

    OR

    2- 3 dwarf lions
    maybe snowflake eel
    urchin for algae control.

i think the second would be better but i like the first one more. i cant decide, but i may get one of these guys SMALL tomorrow.

    thanks

Just my two cents, but a 55 is much too small for even a single dwarf lion. Keep in mind even the fuzzy and the fu manchu dwarf lions get to about a foot. Also, urchins eat very little algae. They prefer coralline.

im not gonna drill it. i will have gracilaria, chaeto, mangroves and halimeda if i can figure out how to make more halimeda lol.

so, should i just do the dwarfs or not? i cant keep them alive that long, something bad always happens.

If you can't keep them alive I wouldn't waste my money on keeping them. Go with fish you can keep alive and enjoy.

i couldnt keep them alive because i was inexperienced and got them when they already werent eating. i wont make that mistake again. ill get it when its eating and i think that was my major downfall so i should be good. i wont be happy unless i have a lion, for some reason a reef tank just doesnt satisfie me all the way...
