Hi all. I've got a prototype of my website that I'm working on. Some of the pricing is accurate, some of it isn't, but if I could get some feedback on it, I'd really appreciate it. Let me know any comments, suggestions, problems.

    Thanks!

    Eric

Looks good, although, you might want to rename the botton that says more. AS to what, ? I don't know, sorry. It just made it a tad harder to navigate the site. It also took an eon to load with my DSL>

Hmm, that seems odd. It seems to load for me OK at work. I'll check it from home and see if it's slow.

    Thanks!

Now I see what you're saying about the stupid More button. I'll have to figure out how to change that in the software.

    Thanks!

Being an e-commerce web developer I only have a single suggestion. I recommend not using a cookie based shopping cart, you would be suprised how many people don't understand what cookies are or have the disabled and don't even know it. Even though you explain what they are on the site people will not see that. You could potentially loose orders because people think the site is broken. I highly recommend a shopping cart that works with a database.

    good luck

Eeep. I didn't even think of that. I'm using the software from www.actinic.com to do the site. Does that look bad? I thought that it was pretty good software and it uses databases? I'll do some more digging.

I looked at there website and can't find anywhere that they explain how their shopping carts work.  I can't tell be looking at your site if it uses a database or not.  It might use a database for the products but on the info page on your site you mention that the shopping cart uses cookies to keep track of the products you place in it.

off the shelf shopping carts often use cookies for product management because it takes virtually no effort to setup.  Carts that require a database force you to setup tables and is a little more involved, but not much harder.

I can't seem to find any information either. On my local machine where the software is running (and updates the web via FTP) everything seems to be done in Access databases.

I'm about halfway through my trial period with this software, and I was going to buy it, but I'm gathering that you would suggest against it. It's pretty spendy software. Got any other ideas for me? You can email me at perpetual98 AT yahoo.com if you want.

    Thanks!
