FYI, it said how many gallons it treats in the descrpiton.

"Seachem Reef Advantage Magnesium ia a concentrated blend of magnesium, chloride and sulfate salt designed to restore depleted levels of magnesium with minimal impact on the ionic ratios found in natural seawater. Unlike other liquid magnesium supplements, Reef Advantage Magnesium contains no ammonia! 600 grams treats 2,500 gallons."

If I were you, I'd go for the larger bottle. 1kg for $11.39 is 31.9 cents per ounce, while the 600g bottle for $8.29 is 38.7 cents per ounce. Magnesium can be used faster than you think, especially if you do a lot of water changes and you need to raise the default level of Magnesium for the newly made saltwater every time.

Being that you have smaller tanks, you will probably find this to last a good amount of time. If you had a larger tank, you'd be better served making your own. Buy Magnesium Chloride in bulk for Bulk Reef Supply, and Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt) from Walmart. Mix it 5 parts Mag Chloride to 3 parts Epsom salt. In the long run would be way cheaper.

Not directed at you, but I love how they do that. How in the world do they know someone's current level of Magnesium, or what level they are trying to achieve? The lower the initial level, or the higher someone likes to keep it at, the less gallons it will treat.

It is based on an average starting level. Think of it as an up to 2500G. Not, no matter what it will treat 2500G.

I also use the Seachem reef advantage Magnesium and despite having over 30 frags of SPS in my 70, My magnesium supplement was a measly 6 teaspoons , once per week
    to maintain a mag level of 1410 - 1440

so I found it cost effective for over 6 months , naturally as the corals grew, coralline started taking over everything then the demand would increase

but IME this is a great product to get you started with making additions

this product, combined with Advantage Calcium and Reef Builder , where my chosen supplements for my tank

Thanks, Steve. I planned on going with the 1kg. At least from someone elses params, just after a WC(I think it was Reeron, as a matter of fact) RC salt already gives rather high calcium.
