I am looking at buying this tank from this link 50 Corner Reef Ready (24x24x24)

I was wondering if this is a good system to have which is the reef ready system...or should i go with the aquasystem 50 Corner Aquasystem (24x24x24)

I was wondering that as me as a beginner which one would be better for me and which is better over all for those who know alot about aquariums. Can somebody please tell me the difference and what is needed for both of these types. Which one would be easier to maintain and cost effective

the first one would have the overflow and use a sump pump, but how would the second one work?

If I were you I'd choose #1 reef ready tank. Only for the preference of having the ability to add all kinds of equipment to it. A refugium for example.

Choice #2 has all the wet/dry filtration etc. built into it and hidden with a faux wall. The all-in-one if you will. It is more limited for upgrades and the sort. Very popular style with nano aquariums these days.

Yep, behind it. Usually the last 4-6 inches. Just depends on the shape and size.
Wet/dry filtration is focused more on biological filtration.

The one in particular has mech also. You can probably find a spot for some media. There is no integrated skimmer though. And yes, the wet/dry is the sump. Technically:) I would suggest a book also. The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner is easy reading and very informative. Something to poke around and get familiar with what you are getting into and buying. I would still prefer the reef ready. Adding a skimmer and refugium are a breeze.................

media is filter devices i.e. bioballs, sand, live rock, stuff of that nature.
