after dealing with a hair algae problem i have seen to cure that problem i lowered the hrs of lights on. Finally Last night i was looking at my tank and i saw a iridescent jelly looking thing on one of my br it has 2 tentacles that retracted and on those tentacles it had like barbs all the way down the tentacles. i was using my return to blow off debris off my lr. It was cool but weird. that's the best way to describe it. I was shining the flash light on it that's when the tentacle's retracted. any ideas finally some type of life in the tank i hope to put some fish in the tank this weekend if all goes well.

tentacles with barbs. maybe a small brittle star. there are some species that stay very small.

i checked it out it's not a brittle star i will try to clarify it a little it has 2 string like tentacles off the base of it like hair up and down the string like things. it's body or whatever you want to call it is a jelly like base it's see through and a glob like thing.

Actually, calurpa is a macro algae. The critter that you have, I believe, is a comb jellyfish (ctenophores). It just happens that the second link I gave you shows these critters living in a bunch of algae (calurpa) :)
