Im upgrading some of the bulbs on the t-5 fixture and need some ideas on what would work best. Right now i have 2-460nm bulbs and 4-10,000k bulbs all 24". I was looking into 2 UVL super Actinic 420nm, and 2 UVL 75.25 14000k bulbs. Which would work in conjuction with the 2-460's and 2 of the 10,000k bulbs. Its 8 bulb total so i have enough slots i just want more blue light and something that will give the corals more light and color.

    2 ATI Blue+
    ATI 12000K Aquablue special
    GE Starcoat 6500K Full Spectrum

    That's how I'd go with a 4 light fixture.

Edit** of course if I could read I'd see you are 24" sorry. No suggestions due to lack of experience :(

The UVL are pinkish purple in color, one will be enough in your light scheme. I would buy ATI blue plus in place of the actinics the produce far more usable light and produce a very good blue. In place of the second UVL I would go with either another blue plus or an ATI aquablue special. The special is a daylight bulb that is a little bluer than the 10000K. When the time comes I would upgrade the 460nm with aqua blues and the 10000K with aquablue specials. If you have high light loving corals get a GE 6500K in place of one of the aquablues.

Your suggestion will work for 24, 36 and 48 inch units.

Closer than anyone else lol. Its an 8 bulb fixture the only reason I have 6 in the fixture now is because i got 6-10000k bulbs and 2 of the 460nm ones with the fixture, and last time i put all the bulbs in our blue hipo became see through it looked like an x-ray machine lol. like i said i want more dark blue color andi want something that will really show off the colors of the corals very well as well as give me great par and usable light for the corals.

one reason i was looking at the uvl was from reviews i was reading as well as the fact i could get the deep 420nm color and the 75.25 bulbwas split 14000k and 6700k light spectrums that coupled with 2 460nm and 2 10000k bulbs would cover both sides of the fixture with a wide range of light spectrum as well as give me the dawn dusk effect with the timers i have set up.
