    Hey all,

So I am new to this. Given a tank a while ago. It came with crushed coral in it. I would like to change to live sand. it will be a pain in the butt, but the crushed coral is too difficult to vaccum effectively. My question is how will my livestock be affected by the change? Will it be okay just to swap it out?

thanks in advance for your awesome answers!

You will probably go through another cycle.
If you do decide to do it, do NOT use live sand. Use dry base sand. That way, there will be no die-off and any short cycle will be minimized.

So overall a transfer is a bad idea. will the cycle kill my fish, corals, inverts?
