it's not an emergency but i'm leaving in about an hour to go to the LFS and would like to get some input before i go.

if i add live sand to my fuge/sump and hook it up to my established tank. am i going to see any kind of spike? should i try to cycle my fuge/sump before i hook it on to my DT?

or would i be ahead to just by dead sand and dead rock and let my tank eventually seed the sump?

I just added it with no problems whatsoever--never saw any readings change

I just added a refugium to my system and didn't see any spikes of anything, I added mud though.

cool. thanks for the quick response. i'm hoping that the 80 lbs of LR i have cured in my DT would absorb any fluctuations. maybe i'll run my sump for a while as a stand alone and test it for a while. thanks again!
