need this id asap..

saw a few of these things in my tanks.. some small some bigger... they make noise as they hit the tank walls

looks awfully like Cirolanid Isopods ... very notable black eyes.. similar shape to ones shown on
Xtalreef

please confirm it for me and if it is the isopods how do i go about getting rid of them... this is a new setup btw (2weeks old).

I dare say you are correct! Not too sure about how to get rid of them, maybe freshwater dip your LR? It's important that you remove them all ASAP otherwise you could probably plan on being fishless for a bit of a while D: Good luck!

if i leave everything there as it is... after 2-3 month these things would die??

would turning off pump and skimmer ...decrease salt lvl (as in adding freshwater instead of saltwater during weekly water change) help the process?? and if in someway i end up "killing" my live rock by doing what i mentioned above .. is there anyway to bring it back to "life"?

I had one a while back stuck to an anthias fish and a very reputable merchant asked me if I had a fairy wrasse and I told him I have a Solar Wrasse and he said that he'll eat 'em. The next day he was gone. I still have that fish today after a year. I think he also might have said that a cleaner shrimp would do the job also.

only problem is i noticed i have more than just 1.. ranging from tiny to pretty decent size.. i saw 7-8(tiny) and like 2 decent size. but thats probably not all. i don't really want to risk putting livestock in unless it absolutely will do the job..

 

They might be harmless little scuttle shrimp.... kind of look like that in the pics IMO

 

ya i thought i do double check..

but this pic really confirmed my fears.. not sure if the smaller one is a different type or a new hatch..

is this a reef tank? if it isnt id be tempted to just use copper!
