My water, live sand (argonite) and live rock will be delivered on Friday the 16th. However my light will not arrive until 19th or 20th, GRRRR shipping.

Do i have to have the light on for the start of cycling or can i just throw it all in and put the light on when it arrives?

I have some small lights. 36 inch single bulb floresents may 20ish watts each. (they are off my old fresh tank)

125g tank with 156lbs of rock 40g fug (mud rock and macro algea)

It is my understanding that you do not need lighting during cycling.

I third this.. no lighting needed as I found out when setting my tank up. This also cuts down on algae bloom

In my opinion you can go with the set up and just add the light when it arrives 4 or 5 days wouldn't make a difference being you do not have any live stock in there yet and i have herd no lights, all lights and just Actinic lights dooring a cycle .

+1 it will encourage algae growth which can lead to more work.
