Need to vent

    So far it's Marco rock and sand in there. Nothing "alive". I had been waiting for it to clear up before I put some rock from the old system in there. Perhaps tomorrow I just need to bring some rock from my other system to get things going. It's just all been so very frustrating. I've tried the clarifier stuff too and it didn't seem to help at all.

    "old" rock would probably be a good idea. And just for some "clarification" hahahah get it.......


    im not a advocate of chemical "fix its" but i was suprised how fast my tank cleared when i upgraded. but i did move like 30 gallons of old water and 60lbs of live rock from my 55.

    As others have said. I would run pumps and filtration and get the cycle started. Throw a dead fish/shrimp in there and go.

    +1. You absolutely have to have something for bacteria in there to eat in order for them to grow into big enough numbers to hold down the sand.

    it took about a week and a half for my sand to clear maybe longer throw a shrimp in that beast and watch the show for the next few months lmao
