    Hi Guys,

    Sorry for posting again in a different thread but I am going crazy here and just saw something that might put you guys in the right direction... I have started my post called Aquarium Crisis where to cut a long story short my fish were dying at night and all agitated..solutions tried...:
    30% water change - water is in perfect readings now as it was before anyway;
    did a crab trap with no success;
    tonight my last fish died :( :(
    I found my coral banded shrip picking on the dead fish.... at first I thought well then it must be him chasing and killing them.. and I am still not sure about this...

    but all of a sudden whilst I was still staring at the aquarium I saw like a long worm with many legs moving very fast from one hole to the other of a live rock....I immedietatly removed the rock of the aquarium and left out to dry and die too...what is this?

    could it be this the cause of the fish death? could it be the coral banded shrimp killing my coral beauty?

    what shall i do now? am so confused just feel like giving it all up...I was about to but a couple of fish tomorrow since in Malta they are so rare..I will miss the chance now..and would have to wait a month or two just to see a fish in my desert aquarium :(

    thanks for your expert advice and sorry for letting it out a bit..

    rob

    worm

    re length I cannot tell much as I just saw movement of his body from one hole to the other without seeing the start of it but defenitly a couple of inches,.. however it was like grey in colour with reddish legs and not very thick i would say 1 to 1.5mm..

    I am blaming the coral banded too.. hope I ll catch him to return back...

    my tank

    so here is all the info..

    tank size: 4.5ft, by 50cm, by 65cm total capacity 375ltrs of water.
    has been running for approx 2months..
    fish owned and dead in a weak: Coral Beauty (died this night), yellow fin damsel, bi color angel.
    Only fish surving so far but seems tired after this night is the Goby (orange spotted)

    re invertebrates I have a camel and a coral banded shrimp ( i am blaming these guys to have killed all)

    and only one soft coral like a polyp thing but sorry forgot the name.

    Re water parameters:

    Nitrite: 0
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrate: 15
    ph: 8

    and obviously live rock most of it imported from the Caribbean and in which I saw that long worm... now I took that rock out.. but still I am blaming the shrimp.. I will surely remove the Coral Banded and am not sure if I try to catch the Camel too.. problem is how to catch them without putting down all the setup in the aquarium.

    All I know is that fish are dying only at night..and after a night i am seeing loads of like holes in the live sand one next to each other seems like someone has been pressing with a finger on the sand...

    Its all so confusing...and frustrating...

    thanks to all for your patience and input.

    ok sounds like oxygen increase circulation by adding pumps make sure you have top of water movement to this will increase gas exchange don't add but one fish ata time. tank may be to new for that many fish at this time you do need to get the camel out if you ever want coral they will eat coral so will the coral banded but not as bad. i hope this helps look for crabs at night use a flash light with a red bulb these can kill fish if big enough, small worms are good in most cases the shrimp don't kill fish, in some cases the cbs has been known to kill very small fish but i don't think that is the case here.
