needing a custom built led fixture

I have no experience on building leds. If someone is interested in making some cash on a simple 48in long 12 bulb cree system of just royal blues let me know ;D

 

Didn't you just add a Phoenix 14000K? The peak spectrum of the phoenix is 450nm, and the peak spectrum of the royal blues is 450nm. So, it really isn't much for supplementation. Or am I thinking of someone else?

If you want to supplement a phoenix, go with 420nm LEDs, or maybe a mix of 420s and CREE blue (not royal blue), as the Phoenix lacks more in these areas.

 

I did. And I didn't know this thanks for the input where can I find 420nm?
And I just added 2 14k 250w

 

for what size tank? I didn't have any experience before my recent build but was able to pull it off after a couple of posts!

If you are trying to make an "accent light" I would suggest getting a few UV's to add too the Blue maybe, 6/6 for your tank? they have them at Rapidled

I do know this guy from our local aquarium forum (carolinafishtalk.com) and I've bought individual LEDs (for my own DIY stuff) and he's a good guy. He's not the cheapest, for sure, but his LEDs are very comparable to the stuff produced by the big-box companies.
