    Smashing mantis don't generally eat fish. Think about it, why try to catch a fast moving fish when there are so many slow moving snails, hermits and shrimp to dine on.

    Funny that you are talking about Neon Gobies -- I was just reading about them earlier today. According to the book I had, Neon Gobies have an expected lifespan of little more than one year, although they are mature at two months after hatching.
