Can someone tell me what this neon green stuff growing on my rocks is? It's all over my tank and getting brighter each day. Some of it also has purple specks growing around it. I'm assuming that the purple is coralline but I can't be certain as this is my first SW tank. Thanks for the help.

Green coralline; often comes before the purple takes over.

Thanks evolved, I have that in my tank and wondered what it was. Wasn't ever thinking about green coraline.

To the OP, is that texas holy rock? If so I would ditch it immediatly and go get some real live rock or dry rock. When I got into this hobby I let an lfs sell me texas holy rock and I had nothing but problems. It offers basically no bio filtration, and its full of dead tree roots. It had my tank so screwed up I almost quit the hobby. Once I removed it the tank became stable as can be.

I only have a few peices of texas holy rock. Don't worry the rest is very porous live and base rock. Thank your for your concern. I had a the texas holy laying around from an old tank so I boiled it and reused it instead of paying more money for rocks.

Ah ok. Yeah all the rock in my tank was holy rock and I had so many problems. When I took it out and inspected it further, mine had tree roots jammed deep down inside of it. I would hate to see someone go through what I went through.
