don't be fraid', the great thing about a Tube nem is that it doesn't wander like other nems. You'll need a decent sandbed to bury its body in the sand and it usually will remain in the same "area" for life. They can shift around under the sand a bit. As FOD mentioned, it's non-photosynthetic too so it doesn't need any type of strong lighting, you just target feed once a week or so. You do have to be wary of bottom dwellers as they can wander into the tube and become food. Most healthy fish are wary of it though and won't get near the tentacles.

Have you checked the geiger counter? That thing looks radioactive. Sweet.

That jawfish looks like he's seen a ghost. :)

A tube anemone is not actually an anemone. People swear they won't eat fish, but they do...less than healthy ones that is. It picked off a chromis and a firefish I had...both wouldn't eat for a week prior. They are easy to care for. They do not need sand as explained above, but it can help its overall "health and happiness". It has a foot, similar to an anemone, but does not have the same hold, nor will it nuke a tank if it dies. Just thought I'd clear up common misconceptions.

Thanks for the info FOD, I didn't know they didn't need sand, that's good to know. The one fish I worried a tad about was my mandarin but it is wary of all my RBTA's and so far is def steering clear of the tube.

Haha I didn't even realize my jawfish was in the pic, he's so freaked out since I re-scaped and destroyed his burrow. He's now just sitting in the very front of the tank in a little sand hole, poor guy

he's soooo mad at me, I made him a new burrow but he just wants to sit there nervous and freaked out in the front of the tank. He's seriously needs some anti-anxiety meds he's a jitterbug :)

love my tube anemone but it has a potent sting! anything i put in it's perimeter gets stressed out even my clam doesn't open when i put it beside it. now it just sits alone in front of the tank with nothing close to it by 6 inch.
    but they are beautiful!
