Drip acclimating IMO is the best way to introduce new additions to your tank. I let mine acclimate for about an hour to an hour and a half at 6 drips a minute. I have heard of it beng done in shorter and longer time frames. I have noticed a lot less stress since I started this method of acclimating. Hope everything goes well with your new addition. Can't wait to see pics.

For fish, I've always just acclimated to temperature, then dropped them in the tank. My LFS keeps their water at typical reef salinity (1.023-1.025), so I don't worry about that. I mostly do the same for corals, too. Some inverts do need a drip, though.

I would drip, since you don't know the salinity of the tank they're coming from.

As Dredfish stated, there are many ideas about what is best. If the store you are getting them from has an established procedure, then I recommend you follow it closely.
If not, then at least one hour using the drip method.
I drip for 2 hours at one drop every 2 seconds.
