 nah just givin you a hard time........ I read it, my oldest son is Bi-Polar too. Went years being undiagnosed, until a self inflicted shovel to his head at 19 finally sent him to the psych ward. He was also really heavy into coke at that time which moved to crack later. He's still not medicated, but know what his triggers are and avoids them(for now). Some days are better than others. He says the meds make him feel like "duh".... He looked like "duh" too anyway GO TO SLEEP!!!!!!!!!! I stay up way to late most nights too. I just can't fall asleep. Maybe drinking heavily would work...j/k I hate hangovers!!!

but anyway it's nice to see others in the same boat every now and then, though I wouldn't wish it on anyone. My fish tank seems to be my sanity and my compulsion.....

oh yeah go onto photobucket and upload em there and then click the bottom of the 4 codes (links) it gives you and hit paste on the page and it'll put them on the page. pretty quick and easy, but I can wait till tomorrow(patience in play)

Can't sleep! I'm slightly on the manic side of BP myself but if I am on medication I can't hear the kids during the night. Both the older ones have nightmares and need sleep. You already know DH issues, and he's medicated enough to sleep like a log...one of us needs to hear the kids.

I'm on my second glass of wine, and unwinding. This is the only time I get to myself. No one is awake but me and my cleaning crew.

Luckily mine never did have nightmares. At least he gets to sleep! oh yeah I know the feeling I love it at night. Hubby doesn't understand me liking it so quiet. I can multi-task with the best of em but don't do well in chaos. Well I'm gonna go to bed and watch the rest of conan and that guy after him. nite nite!

Not sleeping is the worst...I go through horrible phases of not sleeping, then I can not sleep enough. Last week the average time I went to bed was between 4-5am. Sad I had to work the next days, but fortunate I work from home ;D. I get in more trouble with my tank at that time of night...I decide I cant sleep, so why not screw around with the tank! Not good, not good at all.

I dont have any children but I have 2 nieces and a nephew that actually own my tank! I can never walk out of a LFS when they are there without spending a butt load of money (I cant walk out of a LFS even when they are not there!!!) But each one of them has their own fish in the tank and they ASK ME ALL THE TIME, how is lemontart (yellow tang) how is Dore (Blue Hippo) how is schockey (foxface) etc......

The bad one is "how is blitzen" a horseshoe crab. That guy belongs to all 3 of them and it is their ABSOLUTE favorite. The 2 guys working the day I bought it, spent a lot of time telling them that they hide a lot and that they dont live very long...well kids only heard that they hide alot. About 1 month after I bought it the thing died. I ran up to the store to find a replacement blitzen. That thing died about 1 month later. The kids kept asking about him, and I told them I think he died. I kept getting told....no they said he hides a lot. So I let them believe that, until it was time to switch tanks. Repeated questions, did I find Blitzen, is blitzen happy in new home, yada yada yada. When I told them that I did not find him, automatically well we are going to get another one! When I reminded them what the guys said, not one of them remember that they dont live long. When I told them I did not want to get another one, they all 3 got totally bummed out. I then get lectured because I got rid of most of the fish (gave them away) when it was time to make the switch as I was trying to plan on future fish and the yellow tang and fox face were killers. So I guess my next purchase will be Blitzen Jr, or should I say Blitzen the 3rd, then 4th, then 5th.

I went to bed at 2, which was early!!! WAHOO!!!

He's the only clown...and will be the only clown.

I have a 25 gallon tank and he's the third fish. One more fish will be pushing the bio-load line and I really don't want my fourth adn final fish in this tank to be another clown.

*I* actually get to pick the next one! Yeah Right!

Starting to sound like BP syndrome is a common link among SW aquarist's...

Served me quite well during twenty year carrier in military...often found myself doing things others would not...got me a number of medals (along with a couple disciplinary proceedings...:-[)

Became completely unwound after retiring...culminating with a bad beating, hospital and jail stay then mental institution visit in Indonesia...(don't ask...it was bad...:() - expect oldtimers here remember my long term absence from forum...:-[

Anyway, now stay pretty heavily loaded up with some very drastic drugs.

Wake up every morning wondering where and who I am...

But thankfully, as soon as I go into living room and see my tanks...I know. 8)

(alternative could be much much worse...trust me. :p)

Get treatment if you suspect you may have a BP problem!!!

Thanks for Sharing! I am being treated for hypomania by the same doctor that treats me, hubby and the kids. With me, it's mostly counseling and mood monitoring, same with Bailey. Michael is heavily medicated for PTSD and a Panic Disorder. I do have medication for when I get TOO manic, but I stay up at night until the 7 year old wakes up screaming...usually between 2 and 3...was early last night. I also sleep until 10 most days so I get my 7-10 hours, hubby handles the mornings around here and I handle the nights.

The tank is good therapy, when she wakes up screaming we spend 15 minutes watching the tank and then she goes back to bed. When she gets a little older we're going to put a nanocube in her room so she can learn to sooth herself.
