But I did. I held my loupe/magnifying glass (10x) to the glass, focused on what I wanted to get; put my camera on optical zoom and clicked macro as "close" as I could get, and to my amazement, I could make out the subjects!

Here they are. The first two remind me of snowflakes. The last is kind of hard to see, but I think it might be a feather duster-type worm larvae. The stalk is actually above it and to the right, kinda coming down to it from 2:00 o'clock as it whips downward from the movement of the water in the tank.

Anyone ever watch their glass with a magnifier and see these things?

There's one that I could never get a pic 'cause they're so tiny, but when I look at the sand at the glass' edge, if I pull the magnifier out and keep it still, I can see small translucent brown guys. They remind me of ladybugs, or volkswagon beetles. They have spots and they're about 1/10th the size of a grain of sand. I can see them actually climb from grain to grain. Neato stuff!

What is your avatar Reef? or I should say who? I can't really see it even with my glasses on... and pretty cool close ups no matter what it is!

My avatar is a photo of Brad Pitt as Achilles on the set of Troy, out of character, on his cell phone. It cracked me up.

I wish I could find again a pic I once saw on the internet. . When Lord Of The Rings first came out, there's this picture of an Orc (the really dark vicious fighters with the razor-sharp teeth and black faces), with this BLAZE orange cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee in his hand smiling off camera. It's really gotta be seen to be appreciated.

Thanks, Geek. I think I knew somewhere in my head those aren't pods. But, in your honor--I've convinced a pod to stay still long enough for a really clear photo.

    Here it is: [IMG]
