New 14k (SPS)Bulb

Hey Tangster, have you heard/used the Coralife Reeflux bulb before. I heard great reveiws for these bulbs and was wondering what was your opionion. Luna

 

Honestly all I can say is they are light bulbs we ran a couple of them But I'd never use them myself.. The Coralifes are nothing more then the Hamalitons AKA Red Sea in a different box. Not a Fan myself we ran them I just changed them out a few days before my breakage after almost a yr. Nothing very impressive was what I found out about them. To yellow or cool in their K. The X-M's are a Far better bulb in that price range I think..

 

Do those bulbs(the ones you sold to scott) come in 250w @ 14k and DE? The only thing is the DE cant be the round ceramic tips, but the metal inserts. Let me know, Luna

 

They have flat metal spades on either end where they slip up into the fixture sockets the metal is mounted onto some ceramic that serve as a kind of limit stop , A typical aquarium M/H bulbs they fit any reflector socket I ever used or now use I'll see if I can get a close up of a end of one for you.. How are these lamps for a sps tank? I have the M58 ballast and was wondering how the color looked on this ballast and wondered if they did well on a sps tank.

I run $43.00 iron core maganetec transformers and they work just fine on a dominated SPS tank

 

Anyone using the 250w mogul based 14k? Is anyone running them on an e-ballast?

 

I run my 400w 14k on magnetic ballast and love what they do for the tank.
