I'm using ECV Tech right now. But looking for replacements. I'm happy with the bulbs but I have to order them from the US and that is a pain

I recently swithced to the SPS bulbs. They were recommended to me by people that have probably used more bulbs than I know even existed for longer than I've been alive ;) All I can say is I'm very happy with them, and will continue to use them, regardless of what one or two internet reports say ;)

My 20k is a SPS and I'm happy with it.
I actually ordered two more 20k sps bulbs for mine.

on a 30 gallon breeder right??? Not a very deep tank at all. On a 30 inch tank, just think what you would get with a higher end, well designed bulb. I have run sps and though they make the corals look nice with the blue, almost actinic tint, they are just weak all across the board. Like I say, a pinto will get you from point a to point be but a vette will do it faster.

These corals, otty, are in a 31 inch deep 250 gallon tank with 250 watt reeflux 12k bulbs.

I can't say that they are mine. they belong to a really good friend of mine. he has been in the hobby for a long time and he ships frags from his tank on a daily basis. he has amazing growth under his 10k lights. They look pretty good too. I like to see the true colors of the coral rather than the fake color that the almost actinic bulbs puts on them.

at a depth of 20" using an e-ballast the 250w sps 14k showed 310 par and the 250w reeflux 12k showed 200 par. i tested both bulbs along with others.
where are those corals located in the tank? at what distance from the bulb?
