Stick with that light bio-load, keep up regular maintenance on everything and you'll be golden.

I would skip the aqua clear and get a hang on back filter such as a reef octopus if you aren;t going to use a sump (recommended). Did you already buy the lights? if not, you might want to go LED or T-5 now so you don;t have to upgrade in the future

I recommend 2 power heads that's what I use to get a good mixture in the tank.

What you have will be fine for the livestock you want to keep.

Thanks. All the mechanics and lights are stuff I already own from previous tanks. I am definitely looking into a protein skimmer to replace the aquaclear as soon as funding allows for it.

I have a 20 long myself. I have a 2-bulb, 28-watt fixture that I am upgrading to a 4-bulb, 96-watt fixture with moon lights in 3-weeks. In hindsight, I should have invested in it 3 years ago. Thankfully, my new light will be a present (only $75 brand new too).

I have a hang on the back 30-gallon filter and a hang on the back refugium (which I just installed last week) full of culerpa and nitrate pellets.

My water is nearly pristine (<10 ppm nitrate and lowering) thanks to 4-gallon water changes each week.
