    hello im josh i am new to saltwater but this is what i have started with i have about 20lbs + in live rock. some live sand and a pretty ok lighting system. i have read alot on here and its not a beastly tank but i think a good starter. i just want to see if i was in the right direction. Here are a couple pics.

    thats a good looking start josh. what are your plans? reef , fish only? how long has it been setup?

    it has been setup about a week. i want to do a reef. no fish for now. i really want to do Anemones and some other thing that will be compatible with them.

    you can throw a raw shrimp in to help with the cycle. will jump start things. as far as the nem goes, they need an established tank to do well. if not , they can die and basically nuke your whole tank. what lighting is that specifically? that wil ldetermine the corals you can keep.

    just a update. i just got home from work and my rock is turning a goldish color. Is this part of the cycling process? its happening quick the rock has only been in there for a couple days but set on a day like timers
