Hi all this is my first saltwater tank its a 55 gallon tank, to start off I have a home made stand, a fluval canister, 200 watt heater, 65g protein skimmer, Coralife 260 watt light, 40 lbs live sand, 25 lbs live rock. To bring this up to speed I put the tank together on Oct 14th I do have pictures posted in my album but I will put then on here too

I would like to put in some corals and a couple more fish. But I was quite anxious to get things rolling so after about 5 days of it running I was testing the water so I decided to buy some shrimp and a cheap fish to see what would happen

i understand it didnt cost much but thats like torturing a fish, you really should have cycled the tank before you threw some fish in, its not like a freshwater tank, you cant really get away with things like that
