I have not put them in the tank yet. I was going to today but after coming in to the office and getting hit by the smell there is NO WAY I was sticking my hands in there!!

I will probably hook them up in a week or so. Is there really any need to have them running during cycle?

Here are the fans installed. I pulled out the lights for a couple days to make sure the fans are taking care of the condensation.

Nice install on the fans. MJ's are direct flow so they're going to "feel" more powerful. The koralia's do a hell of a job dispersing the flow as you would never want direct flow onto coral anyway. You can set them up now if you want. It'll be something to do while you wait for cycle end. It's by no means necessary however. Pull the shrimp, it's job is done.

You think the tank stinks wait til you get a whiff of skimmate ;)

I run them during a cycle. Some types of nutrifying bacteria grow better in the presence of oxygen, and the surface agitation promotes that. Probably something to be said about any DOC in the water column assisting the development of the biological filter as well. JM2C.

I am thinking of upgrading my koralias so I was wonder how they were working out for you, guess I will have to wait and see.

Then get some more maxi's or get larger Koralia's. The flow isn't for you it's for your tank inhabitants.
