New 55Gal build

Your tank is going to be great. Your events (mishaps) seem to be common including myself! Were you able to successfully remove the aptasia? how are the buttons doing? Also I didn't catch how far into you cycle are you?

The 29 has been up for a month or so. (only set up to keep the livestock i got with the rock) Everything is doing very good, the Aiptasia is gone as far as i can see. The peppermint shrimp ate it ALL. I have found a bunch of Ball Anemone's, trying to decide if i should do anything about them.

The 55 has had a Deli Shrimp for about 2 days and is sitting around 3ppm Ammonia now. The tank has been running for a couple weeks but i just added the shrimp.

I am working on my livestock list. (i like planning ahead)
I currently have:
2x Peppermint Shrimp.
1 Ocellaris clown
1 Coral beauty angel ( Is she reef safe or should i not put her in the 55 since i plan on having softies?)


I am looking for suggestions on other reef safe additions.

 

I found the Ocellaris had Ich last night. This morning he was in pretty bad shape and passed before i got home from work.

I removed the 2 damsels from my 10 gallon and turned it into a Hospital tank, it is a glass only tank with a HOB filter and heater. I put the coral beauty in there and dosed it with copper. How long should i leave him in there? I have only shrimp, crabs and a serpent star left in the DT, if i wait a month to put fish in there the ich will be gone right?
