Sorry to hear about the issue with the fish.

Do you have a test kit for the copper?

Recommendations are usually for 21-28 days, to be really safe 60 days. Do you have any products like Prime or Amaquel? If not I would pick some up and test for ammonia daily.

    Good Luck

I cannot find a copper test kit locally so I will be getting one this weekend. I will have to wait till then to pick up the prime as well.

I also just noticed the coral beauty has a section of his dorsal about 1/8" long that is missing. A single fin "bone" is standing there.

I am getting ready to get a CUC for the 55. Cycling seems to be complete so I will get them next week.

    Any suggestions for a CUC?

Tank is finally cycled. I am picking up some snails and hermits today.
I have had the coral beauty in a copper tank for about 3 weeks because of an ich outbreak in the small tank. I am thinking about moving him to the 55 tonight.

    Congratulation on the new additions.

For a CUC I like asteria snails, turbo snails and some of the smaller hermits. While stomatellea and bristleworms are not typically included as part of a CUC package both do a bang up job.

Three weeks seems long enough as long as the level of copper was maintained at a therapeutic level. But as you probably know it is always a gamble. I am sure your Coral Beauty would love it. Amazing fish.
