New 65W PC bulbs for my tank just came in! Before I had 54W bulbs and I want to know if I should just immediately put in both of the new 65W bulbs. Will the tank get shocked? Should I put 1 in at first? Or should I just go ahead and put both in?
    Thanks!

I'm a little confused by your question. 54W is a standard T5HO bulb where 65W is standard PC bulb. They are not interchangeable without modification to your fixture.

My mistake... they were 55s then. They are definately both PCs.

As long as the bulbs are compatible with the fixture you will not have any problems with coral adjustment. I would put them in.

If you are worried cut back the light cylce a little bit. I just put LED's on my tank, switched over from Metal Halides, and I just cut back on my light cycle a bit and everything is doing fine.

Had the same setup a few years back-- never had any problems with interchanging 55 and 65w bulbs.

    Hope this helps. :)
