Your salinity looks a bit low. Shoot for 1.027.
If that red stuff in the sump comes off easily it's probably cyano.
    +1 to what ontop said

I just set up the same tank but used a 55 gal as the sump. Everything is plumbed to the basement.

    New addition to the tank

Today I bought some corals and polyp's. I found a guy on Craig's list who gave me a good price on his corals and livestock.

    I bought

1 great looking red or rose tip anemone
4 bunches of green and purple frog spawn
    4 large pulsing Xenia's
1 mated par of black and white clowns
    1 6 line wrasse

I love the anemone, just finished acclimating and place all the new additions into the tank.

I'm debating, he had 2 more of the same bubble tips and i need really want them.

even better i took a stock of the Pulsing Xenia into my LFS and they traded me for a Foxface, Royal gramma basslet, and a fire fish. i think thats what you call it but I'm not picking them up yet for a couple of weeks. I think i need to let my tank adjust first.

    Disapointing news thismorning

Well in my last post i had bought some corals and fish off of Craig's list. I learned a valuable lesson today. At the time I bought the corals i could not get the fish because they would just hide in the rock when he tried to get them. Today i got the bad news that someone finally offered him money for the entire setup and he just gave the person the fish with out stopping to say that he had already sold them.

I am a little bummed. not so mush for the 6 line but the 2 black and white ocellaris with the full black face were to good to be true for the price.

oh well, i guess some times to get a great bargain and then sometimes you get screwed.
