    Hello everyone,

I have always wanted a reef tank with black sand, yesterday I set up my new 90 gal with my black sand and my own custom made refugium. I transfered all my water, fish, rocks, and some bio balls over from my 72 gal last night. Everything seems to be doing great! Here are the pics

I like white sand , but ditto on Lunas' comment. That looks nice. How is your stuff secured?.. It looks like it could fall over easily.

    Nice

I really like the easter island head ..
I'm going to do something like that in my next tank..

Is that part of a tree in it, or just a very large piece of coral..?? Really Nice

    Good Luck, Larry

It is very nice looking. I like the black sand. I do have one question though.....what is on your background and how is it? It looks like you can still see your equipment through the tank but behind it I see penguins? mantia rays? other fish that aren't in you tank? How is that set up. It looks cool. I couldn't tell if it is a refection of something in front of the tank even!

Thanks for all the good comments and feedback everyone.

I put in all the rock in with the tank empty, I did not use any type of glue to hold the rocks together. I just kinda wedged them in the sand and against each other. Its pretty secure so far. We'll see how long it lasts.

The backing is a custom photoshop made by a friend of mine. Its printed on see through vynil and we stuck it to the back of the tank instead of painting it.

I'm waiting to get my new lighting system in about two weeks, once I get it you wont be able to see the wires in the back of the tank. The lights on it now are temp.

Clear vynil with a photoshop design on it, it has 2 divers, a mantarey and other things in it.

I'm waiting for my new lights to come. Once they do I'll hide all the wiring you see in the back. Looking at those wires bugs me a lot. I cant wait to get my new lights
